As publicised in Issue 14 of our smart magazine '4site' (March 2010) this is, without doubt, one of the most innovative products on the market for you and your smart.

This little unit (70mm wide, 80mm deep and 20mm high) will play an MP3 file upon receiving a LOCK command from your key fob and will play another MP3 file upon receiving the UNLOCK command.

Supplied with four default MP3 sounds, you can add ANY MP3 file you wish to the SD card supplied and all MP3 recordings are automatically 'numbered' by the hiir unit.  A maximum of up to TWENTY file can be recorded onto the SD card.

The unit has an inbuilt 21 watt amplifier that connects to the (supplied) speaker ensuring that you hear your car's response to your command even in the noisiest of environments, the volume being set by a simple push button the hiir unit.  better still the whole unit weighs only 50 grams.

The playback of MP3 files is controlled by the second button on the hiir unit enabling a choice of  FIVE different playback modes:

• Mode 1: Standard: One file is played for LOCK and the next file played for UNLOCK.  If you have more than two files recorded, the files with the lowest two 'file numbers' are selected

• Mode 2: Random: One file is randomly picked from the stored (max twenty) recordings and played for a LOCK command and another randomly chosen file played for the UNLOCK command

• Mode 3: Continuous: The first file is played for LOCK, next file for UNLOCK, next file for next LOCK, next file for UNLOCK etc.

• Mode 4: Play All: All files are played sequentially on a single LOCK command and all files played sequentially on an UNLOCK command

• Mode 5: Repeat: The lowest file number will be played twice on a LOCK command and the next file will be played twice on an UNLOCK command

Recorded MP3 files must last longer than 1 second and can be a maximum of 20 seconds each and the unit can cater for SD cards from 32Mb to 32Gb.

The complete kit is supplied including the hiir unit, speaker, SD card, wiring, connectors and fitting instructions.
