| Following on from the
positive response to our concept of Destination Brooklands Feedback
in 2007, we again conducted a survey following the 2008 Event at
Mercedes-Benz World and the smart 10th Anniversary celebrations.
We listened to your 2007 Feedback and
this year we had:
- a much larger trader presence
- faster parking logistics and
better welcome pack
- improved pre-event communications
- sticker packs posted earlier
- £5 of food vouchers
- better PA system
Importantly, for an event of this size
(we had over 1100 cars 'clicked' through the gates) the event
remained FREE of charge to all smart car owners and
enthusiasts attending.
We had an amazing 412 survey
forms completed in respect of the 2008 Event and the key results are shown below:
We wanted to track
how participants had applied for the 2008 event. 79% of all
respondents submitted their Registration online via
thesmartclub's web site.

We then asked where participants
had started their journey to Mercedes-Benz World. 2008 saw a
concerted effort by many Dealerships across the UK to act as start
venues and it's great to see that 47% of all respondents started at
a Dealership. By way of comparison, the same question was
asked in 2007 and the relevant percentages for that year are shown
in brackets below.

Having officially started at
1200hrs, we also wanted to ask about the
time people left the venue. With the 2008 event formally finishing
around 1600hrs, it was still encouraging to see a fair percentage of
respondents remaining within the Mercedes-Benz World venue after the
official close.

Finally, our questions asked
respondents to rate a number of aspects relating to the overall
event at Mercedes-Benz World. The results are shown below and
we have also shown the ratings for the 2007 Event with a vertical
RED bar. Virtually all aspects of the Event have shown an
improvement over the 2007 results.
The Application Process remains
the same as 2007 with the highest satisfaction rating, the Traders
presence and Trader services showing the biggest improvement over
2008 whilst the 2008 Catering was the only aspect of the Event
scoring a lower satisfaction rating than 2007.

As ever, thesmartclub is extremely
grateful to all 412 people who took the time to complete our Online
Survey and the feedback and comments are being shared with Daimler
UK and Mercedes-Benz World - it is your feedback that continues to
help ensure we continually aim to provide the best of 'all things
smart' at major events.
