You can join us for a massive gathering of smart cars, smart owners and smart enthusiasts for a day of driving, entertainment and attractions at Mercedes-Benz World, UK on June 21st 2008.

We have taken into consideration, and value greatly, the feedback hundreds of Members and visitors provided following last year's event and this year, we hope to have a truly exceptional event to mark the 10th Anniversary of the smart car.

We are also delighted to announce the forthcoming launch of new information and liaison channels between thesmartclub ltd and Brabus.  More details will follow ensuring you have access to the widest range of help, information and services.  Supporting this initiative, and the launch of the Brabus fortwo, Brabus will also have a significant presence at Destination Brooklands this year and we'll be publishing further details on these activities over the coming months.

There will be multiple Dealership start venues for the drive to Brooklands across the UK and Europe involving Dealerships and 3rd party service providers and we also look forward to welcoming participants from multiple smart car clubs across Europe.  Please see our Destination Brooklands FAQ page

COMPETITION CATEGORIES

We have listened to your feedback from the 2007 Event and this year there will be THREE Competition Categories in this 2008 10th Anniversary celebration Event.

• Most Modified: will cover internal and/or external modifications to any model of smart car.  This can be performance, ICE, body styling, lighting etc
   
• Best Kept: is 'exactly what it says on the tin' namely superb condition internally and externally with superb attention to detail.  Note that this is not strictly concours as that would mean strict legislation on a wide range of requirements such as logos, badge positioning and 'true' factory floor/showroom condition.  Again, the category is open to any model of smart car.
   
• Best Dressed: always popular and reflects the artistic, flamboyant and sometimes eccentric dressing of panels and interiors especially for an Event of this nature.

If you wish your car to be considered for one of the Competition Categories, please select the relevant option on the Application Form. 
IMPORTANTLY, please ensure that you select the CORRECT category should you wish to be considered.  Competition Applicants will be subsequently  contacted by a 3rd Party Organisation to request additional details and descriptions of their vehicle.  A short list of around 10 vehicles per Category will be selected and put on prominent display at the venue. 

Judging for the competition will be by voting form where everyone attending the event will be eligible to vote for their favourite smart in all three categories.  So - the people decide the winners and this year, we are ensuring that the timing, format and announcements are improved on 2007.  We plan to anounce the winners around 1500hrs.

INFORMATION

In addition, we have listened to feedback and will have a better PA system to let you know what's happening when throughout the day.

Multiple smart Dealerships have been contacted regarding acting as a start venue with many planning to hold breakfast meeting facilities prior to a convoy drive to Brooklands.  FULL details of each Dealership participating will be updated on our web site over the coming months.
